For nearly a decade, the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation has been running Camp Bleu Blanc Rouge, a free summer program that brings together 5th‑ and 6th‑grade students from low‑income neighborhoods across the city. The week‑long camp blends classic outdoor activities—canoeing, archery and team sports—with mentorship from former NHL players and foundation volunteers, aiming to build confidence, teamwork and a love of sport. Organizers say the initiative not only offers a reprieve from the challenges of daily life but also provides academic enrichment through tutoring sessions and life‑skills workshops. As the program enters its eighth season, the foundation is seeking new donors and community partners to expand its reach and ensure that more Montreal youth can experience the “Camp Bleu Blanc Rouge” spirit.
