Minor League Baseball Meets Major League Hockey in Unlikely Celebration. In a unique display of team spirit, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, a Minor League Baseball team, celebrated a recent win by taking to the ice at the Fayetteville's Crown Coliseum for a "Storm Surge" celebration, inspired by the Pittsburgh Penguins' iconic "Letang Storm Surge" goal celebration. The event, which combined the Woodpeckers' baseball enthusiasm with the excitement of hockey, saw the team's players and staff donning hockey gear and taking part in a fun-filled evening of ice skating and celebration. The event was made possible by a partnership between the Woodpeckers and the Fayetteville Marksmen, a local minor league hockey team, and is set to become an annual tradition in the city's sports scene.
