The Calgary Flames have made a significant move in their quest for playoff success, acquiring defenseman Jacob Middleton from the Minnesota Wild in a multi-player trade. In exchange, the Flames sent forward Matthew Coronato, defenseman MacKenzie Weegar, and a conditional 2025 third-round pick to Minnesota. The deal also involves Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta heading to the Wild, while the Flames will retain a portion of the contract for defenseman Noah Hanifin, and forward Matt Coronato's rights will be sent to the Wild along with the conditional pick, with the Wild also sending forward Brandon Duhaime, and defenseman Nick Seeler, as well as forward Jordan Greenway's rights to the Wild, and in return the Flames will get a 2025 3rd round pick, and the rights to forward Adam Gaudette's rights, and a conditional 2026 2nd round pick for forward Nick Bjugstad, and forward Adam Gaudette, and defenseman Brandon Duhaime, and defenseman Nick Seeler, and the conditional 2026 2nd round pick.
