Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet praised the rapid development of forward Porter Martone, noting his “hockey IQ” and two-way play as signs he could become a regular top‑six contributor in Philadelphia. Tocchet also opened up about the lingering disappointment of missing out on Russian phenom Matvei Michkov, explaining that the team’s inability to secure the 2023 first‑overall pick left a void that still haunts the organization. The interview touches on how the Flyers are reshaping their roster, balancing youthful optimism with the lessons learned from past draft missteps, and hints at the strategic moves the club may still consider to stay competitive in a tightening Eastern Conference.
