His last two years are the 4th and 5th worst single season totals all time since the statistic has been collected starting in the 2007 by the website. When sorting by WAR per 60 minutes to account for his relatively high minutes played, his season comes in at 767th of 784 qualified skaters with over 100 minutes played. Red Wings fans that still view Chiarot as a positive contributor to the team will say that his contributions simply can't be measured by analytics, or that he has been tasked with playing too high in the lineup on the 2nd pair for what he is capable of due to a lack of team depth on defense, but would be positive for the team playing bottom pair minutes.
