General manager Guerin expresses confidence that forward Hughes will secure a new contract extension with the Minnesota Wild, signaling continued commitment from both sides amid ongoing negotiations. The statement comes as the player remains unsigned following the expiration of his previous deal, raising questions about the timeline for a resolution. With Hughes playing a key role in the team’s recent success, the Wild’s willingness to retain him suggests a priority on maintaining roster stability. Fans and analysts will be watching closely to see how long the discussions take and what terms ultimately emerge.
