In a move that's bringing a piece of Michigan hockey history to the national stage, the U.S. National Team Development Program (NTDP) has named former University of Michigan standout Kevin Porter as its new head coach. Porter, a Detroit native, played a pivotal role in the Wolverines' success during his time at the University of Michigan, helping the team win a national championship in 2008. As head coach of the NTDP, Porter will be tasked with developing the next generation of American hockey talent, leading a program that's a key feeder system for the U.S. Olympic team and the National Hockey League. With his extensive playing experience and coaching background, Porter is well-equipped to lead the NTDP to continued success.
