The Islanders secured a commanding 4-1 victory over the Blackhawks in a game where forward Mattias Ekholm was ejected, while rookie forward Adam Boqvist scored his first career NHL goal. Standout performances came from Islanders forward Martin Necas, who added two more goals, and defenseman Noah Hanifin, who tallied his first career hat trick. The Blackhawks' defense struggled, with goalie Robin Lehner making 29 saves but ultimately falling short. The win keeps the Islanders on a strong offensive streak, with key contributors like center Cal Clutterbuck and forward Brock Boeser continuing to deliver.
