A recent policy, recommended by the NHL, has made its way to the Prudential Center. The new bag policy only allows 4" x 6" x 1.5" sized bags or smaller (if smaller can be found). Medical and family/baby bags are subject to extra X-ray screening and would be admitted based on the security personnel you interact with. Unfortunately, for the last 8 years I have been attending, the security magnetometers and x-ray machines have never been updated. Additionally, the Prudential Center has very few entrances and each one has only had 1 X-ray machine available for extra screening. This new policy is extremely strict and is likely to spread, targeting women, families, and those with extra medical or personal needs. An example would be a fan I spoke with recently who is in remission for cancer and prefers not to talk about her journey but she found entry difficult because she had to wait longer and was questioned about the larger bag. She said she will just have to stay home now. Some healthy women were finding it hard to carry feminine products in the arena as often our pockets are fake in our clothing and an index card sized bag doesn't hold everything needed. I don't plan on arguing or reposting with people about this, but if it affects you or you would like to help in the cause of allowing clear bags again I wanted to share this petition link.
