A long-term injury to starting goaltender Shesterkin has left Detroit Red Wings management actively seeking a trade partner for veteran pitcher John Gibson, who has struggled with consistency this season. The team’s search for a suitable deal could accelerate as they assess their roster needs following the goalie’s setback. Gibson’s presence in trade discussions may provide an opportunity for another club looking to bolster its bullpen or starting rotation. The situation highlights the Red Wings’ need to address key positional weaknesses while navigating the trade deadline.
