Conference finals losers sorted by points are assigned picks 29 and 30. Pick 31 is assigned to the Stanley Cup runner-up. Pick 32 is assigned to the Stanley Cup champion. With a defeat before reaching the conference finals and a second-place finish in their division, the condition on the first round pick involved in the K'Andre Miller trade is now resolved: Dallas' pick is guaranteed to be earlier than Carolina's, meaning it will become property of the Rangers. Carolina will retain their own pick.
