Montreal Canadiens supporters have taken to social media to urge the Detroit Red Wings to trade star forward Connor McDavid, using the hashtag #WeWantLarkin—a reference to the team’s former captain, Jonathan Toews, who left for the Chicago Blackhawks. The outpouring of fan sentiment highlights the Canadiens’ desire for a high-profile player, though the Red Wings have shown no indication of entertaining such a move. The campaign reflects both the team’s past struggles in securing top-tier talent and the passionate fanbase’s eagerness for a franchise-changing acquisition. Whether the push gains traction remains unclear, but it underscores the growing demand for impact players in the NHL.
